Join Martin Milnes for a topsy-turvy celebration! Martin directed the first professional revival of “The Grand Duke”, described by Mike Leigh as ‘hilarious … like a breath of fresh air.’ In his Swiss debut, Martin shares songs, anecdotes and ‘jolly jinks’ from a lifetime’s work in Gilbert & Sullivan (G&S), inspired and mentored by stars of stage, screen and Savoy.
Martin Milnes is an actor, author and director based in London. His G&S roles include Ko-Ko, Nanki-Poo, Yum-Yum, Fredric and Strepho, appearing in the operas at venues including Chichester Festival Theatre, Buxton Opera House and the Gielgud Theatre in London’s West End. Martin has been a Guest Lecturer for Seabourn Cruises, and is a biographer for StoryTerrace, the world’s leading ghostwriting service. He directed the London premiere of Gyles Brandreth and Julian Slade’s “Now We Are Sixty” and played the double role of ‘Jilly/Nelson’ in the workshop of upcoming Broadway musical “Dangerous”. Earlier this year, he directed a Royal Gala for the Battle of Britain Memorial Trust starring Sir Ben Kingsley.
