The “Werkraum” is home to CLAP YOUR HANDS; a modern, progressive music label and recording studio founded by Patrik Zosso and Sarah Chaksad that brings together a diverse community of artists who share an appreciation for unique, creative and carefully crafted music.
Our “Werkraum” is where new recordings come about, rehearsals as well as production mixing and mastering take place, and videos are created. With music, videos, blogs, podcasts, masterclasses, interviews, sheet music and much more, CLAP YOUR HANDS seeks to invite listeners to experience a deeper understanding of every aspect of the creative process.
Examples of recordings produced in our studio:

is a versatile artist who works as a saxophonist, composer, producer, orchestra leader, manager and curator in a wide variety of musical contexts. In 2016, she released her first album “windmond” with the Sarah Chaksad Orchestra, which was presented in 2017 with performances at the Schaffhausen Jazz Festival and the Offbeat Jazz Festival Basel. In 2019 she released her second album “Tabriz”, and in 2021 her septet debut album “Songlines”, both of which received international acclaim. From 2017 to 2019, Sarah was the curator of the Schaffhausen Jazz Talks. In 2018 she received a grant from the Aargauer Kuratorium and in 2020 the Werkbeitrag. In 2023, she released her latest work “Together” with the Sarah Chaksad Large Ensemble, a 13-piece international band. Together with guitarist Wolfgang Muthspiel, Sarah Chaksad currently leads the unique “Focusyear” program at the Jazzcampus in Basel. She is also a member of the artist agency Esteam Music GmbH, which works with a large number of internationally recognized jazz musicians.

is a sound researcher who works as a sound engineer, mixer and record producer. Over the past decades he has worked with and learned from a long list of brilliant artists (Bugge Wesseltoft, Wolfgang Muthspiel, Marilyn Mazur, Jorge Rossy, among others) from all over the world. Patrik’s deep understanding of rhythm, song form and storytelling stems from his earliest musical experiences as a drummer. Since then, his musical journey has been guided by his passion for music production and his enthusiasm for discovering new sounds and approaches with each new artistic collaboration. In addition to his work as a producer, Patrik is the director of the Master of Arts in Musical Performance Jazz at the Hochschule für Musik in Basel, Switzerland.

studied percussion at the Basel University of Music with Julio Barretto, Gregor Hilbe and Jorge Rossy, among others, as well as producing with Uli Rennert and Daniel Dettwiler. Since then, he has been working as a freelance sound engineer and musician in various projects, producing albums in his own studio and performing on concert stages in Switzerland and Europe.
