War and peace - these terms, which have become somewhat dusty since the two world wars, are once again particularly topical, not least in view of Ukraine and Gaza. Are we currently experiencing a turning point - away from the old post-war era and towards a new pre-war or war era? Are the militarization of public discourse and the outlawing of pacifism and neutrality signs of this? And what actually motivates people to go to war - or not to do so?
